The 18-metre OCD 60 Alvorada has been created as a liveaboard blue water cruiser, equally at home in tropical climates as in the high latitudes. Her experienced owner, a former Boreal 45 sailor, plans to circumnavigate the globe aboard his new yacht.
Self-sufficient at sea
A large aft platform provides easy access to the water and space for the tender, while solar panels on the arch and pilothouse support sustainable, off-grid cruising. Below deck, a generous workshop offers ample room for tools and spare parts — ideal for extended voyages far from shore.

Confident short-handed sailing
A key design choice was that Alvorada could be safely and comfortably handled by just two people. All systems and sail controls are optimised for efficiency, allowing the owners to manage the yacht with ease, whether crossing oceans or exploring remote anchorages.
Ready for any passage
While designed for private cruising, Alvorada also includes provisions for future commercial coding (MGN280) and charter use. She combines blue water and high-latitude capabilities with style, comfort, and safety for a crew of two, accommodating up to six guests.
Proven pedigree with a new horizon
With her design, Alvorada follows in the lineage of Qilak — the 66ft expedition yacht by Owen Clarke Design, launched by KM Yachtbuilders in 2018. While Qilak earned her stripes in high-latitude regions, Alvorada is set to explore more temperate southern waters.
