The Bestevaer 45 ‘Mate’ is the third yacht in the PURE series, and was delivered at the beginning of 2018. Despite the fact that the PURE is a series-built yacht, this owner has been able to realise many of his wishes. The ultimate goal is to use this ship to sail the Northwest Passage. It is especially clear on deck that the yacht is safely and robustly built. All tracks are welded rather than screwed and the bollards are welded to the side.
The vertical sliding hatch is also made of aluminium and has a porthole. To keep the ship as maintenance-free as possible, no paint was used. The pilot house is designed in such a way that the crew on watch stays warm and dry in rough conditions while the autopilot does its job. The wood burner in the salon adds atmosphere to the already snug interior. The ‘Mate’ has two double cabins and a cabin with a single berth and extra storage space.
